Memorial Day & Labor Day

These two events mark the opening and closing of the Pool Season.  Memorial Day Saturday is the Grand Opening of the Pool.  Families with a bad case of Spring Fever flock to the pool to see their neighbors and to enjoy the festivities.  Food and Drink is the name of the game.  The grills are going and residents bring dishes to share.  The DJ spins the Tunes for all generations.  The pool water temperature is variable at this time of the year.  However, the cooler water does not stop the kids from jumping in and splashing around.  The braver adults may take a quick dip.  Memorial Day and Fourth of July celebrations are the two biggest pool events in terms of number of families attending.  Other summer days have a more relaxed atmosphere at the pool.

Labor day weekend wraps up the pool season and is a sign that "Back to School" is just around the corner.  The Labor Day party has a similar format as the Memorial Day but is generally attended by a smaller crowd.  Both parties take time to recognize the significant events that occurred in our Nation's history that resulted in a National holiday to honor our military and work forces.
