If there is one Event that defines Creekwood, the Fourth of July Celebration is IT. A 30+ year tradition that draws the community of all ages to proudly display our RED, WHITE and BLUE colors to recognize America's Independence The day starts with a Parade. Children (and parents) decorate their bikes and build floats for the enjoyment of the parade watchers along the walk to the Recreation Complex. Judges pick top winners in Categories such as Bikes, Motorized Vehicles, Strollers, Wagons & Floats, and Walkers & Pets. The Parade is open to all and is a challenge to a family's creativity to get "Best In Show". What Parade is complete without a "Grand Marshall", so add this to the checklist as well.
Following the Parade, there is a tribute to America, starting with the Pledge of Alligence. The Grand Marshall and other speakers give their thoughts on the Patriotic Spirit of our nation. Our servicemen, past and present, are recognized for their sacrifices and contributions that ensures our Freedom. This setting provides an opportunity to reflect on the Freedoms, Values, and Spirit that makes America a Great Country. Wait, we're not through yet, The Party is Just Getting Started. Kids of all ages participate in carnival-style games and challenges. You can Bounce, Slide, Toss, Throw, Hit your way to test your skills and luck at the different stations. All this activity and fun can work up an appetite. The Fourth of July is also synonymous for Hamburgers and Hot Dogs grilled to perfection. Creekwood finest "chefs" demonstrate their backyard barbeque talents while residents relax poolside enjoying Tunes from the DJ and other entertainers. Residents bring their favorite dishes for the whole community to enjoy. No one leaves hungry.
Words can only describe but so much. Please enjoy the picture album links under "Memories Over The Years".
